About This Blog
There are a couple of reasons I've made this blog. One is to refresh my own memory of the things I learned in college and elsewhere, and simultaneously to create a digital storage unit for these notes and lessons so that I can reference them later. It's also so that other folks who are currently studying or are interested in learning something about theatre tech can become acquainted with a little of this jargon.

I also really want to make these notes accessible to people who already know this stuff better than I do so that they can contribute and expand on what I know, and help other people learn, too. It's kind of a wiki-based operation I'm hoping to start.

About Me
I am a New York based theatrical lighting designer and technician. I've got one regular job at a venue where I run lights for concerts and occasional community events and musicals, and I freelance as well. I graduated from McDaniel College in Westminster, MD, a small liberal arts college, in 2013 with a BA in Theatre Production, and I've had my job since August of that same year. Theatre tech is a huge passion of mine and has been so for most of my life. I love seeing concerts, plays, musicals, and operas just as much as I enjoy being a part of the crew that makes them happen. I could geek out anytime about Gilbert & Sullivan, the ASL revival of Spring Awakening, or favorite gel colors. If you would too, contact me! :D

There's more to say, but I'll fill in the rest of this space later when I have time.
